Senator Leahy of VT seems to be running point on legislation to restrict (and eventually confiscate) firearms from law-abiding Americans. Are you Vermont voters letting him know that you will become politically active to defeat him and his party if he persists? Is there a gun problem in VT as perceived by Obama; if not why is your senator doing this to America?

This morning (Saturday, 3/16) on National Public Radio Vermont's Leahy said that only assault rifles are only needed to defend against zombies (whatever they are). I hope that Vermont gun owners can defeat this fellow if he runs again.

A fellow I know drove through a college town in northern Vermont last year. He said that many of the college boys were holding hands with one another. Is that what zombies are? What has happened to the Vermont of the Green Mountain Boys?

He is ignoring the fact that his own state consistently has the lowest or near the lowest per capita murder rate in the country despite have no gun control laws whatsoever. Anyone can legally carry concealed in Vermont with no permit.

His allegiance to Obama is more important than looking at the facts of his home state.

Democracy is not majority rule, it's rule by the majority of those who show up. And showing up requires more than voting, it requires working on campaigns, registering family members, shooters and hunters to vote, contributing money to campaigns, and making sure everyone belongs to the NRA. If we don't all do this we can be sure our rights will continue to be chipped away, and Senator Leahy representing a state like Vermont that not too long ago loved its freedom is a good example of how democracy can be lost.

thxmrgarand I know this is over a year old, But some dont get it I guess. Do you have a problem with Sen. Leahy or Vt in general ? Most Vermonters that I know are letting Leahy know how they feel about Guns and our rights. Its done not only thru public voicing but BEING Politically active, Not by planning on being active as you suggest. Unless you havent noticed Leahy is leading a lot of the Senate on many issues. Do you have a clue why?
How did your friend like his drive thru our state ? Did he stop and say Hi to your Boys holding hands that came here for a good education from your state ? Oh yeah where is your state anyway? you seem to leave it out of anything connected to you. Not ashamed of it are you? Your obviously not a Green Mountain Boy and just so you know our freedom just got a little better due to our voices, votes and love of our freedom. What have you done for your fellow gun owners in your state? Or do you even own a gun? Enough space wasted on a sore loser Id say.

I live thousands of miles from VT where I carry a gun openly in the local Fred Meyer, Home Depot, etc. I would be a little surprised to hear you go into Costco and Walmart openly wearing a .44 in VT as I do here but I would be happy to hear it, and I would take your word for it.

I logged in VT many years ago, and I can report that the state had then and continues to have a sales tax and an income tax so has nothing left of the Green Mountain Boy spirit. My state has neither a sales tax nor an income tax; that should allow you to guess which state it is.

I honestly don't care if VT fellows hold hands with one another or not. Maybe the heifers are no longer nervous.

My criticism is of your senior senator and the signal that gives to the rest of the nation (although your other senator is a Communist, and what does that say about Ethan's state today?). I am sorry to admit that this state of mine has a Democrat in the US Senate at the moment but the fellow did vote against the attempt by Obama and Reid to take our guns early last year. Your senators are on the other side of the gun issue so far as I can see from the media. Anyone in VT not working to change that is part of the problem we gunowners have!

It's soooooooo cool that you open carry in Wal-Mart and Home Depot. When I grow up, I want to be just like you, opinionated, bigoted, and uninformed.

VT has among the fewest gun laws in the nation. In fact, the Brady Campaign gives VT an "F" on its state "report card" and ranks it 46 out of 50 in the nation for gun laws, far behind your States 26th, putting almost in the 50th percentile.

You want to criticize Leahy or that flatlander Saunders? Be my guest. The more, the merrier. But since Obama carried your State in the last election, and you've got a split delegation, you need to put your own house in order before you start criticizing VT.

We carry open, conceal carry or half in half out. It's a Constitutional carry state. Do whatever you please. But seeing as VT is the second most peaceful state in the country http://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/most-least-safe-states-america-f756544 we don't generally feel the need to walk about the general store with a sixgun in a drop holster. Some more house cleaning to do at your end it seems.

And as to those alternative lifestyle boys your friend was oggling during his visit, you'll find quite the community in your state, might want to tip your "friend" off so he doesn't have to travel so far to find them in the future.

Now if you and your friend do care to come back to the Green Mountain State, you will be most welcome. Bring your guns. Bring your anti-Leahy literature. Leave the attitude at home.

Well spoken RPRNY.
We do have an income and sales tax here but it has nothing to do with the Green Mountain Boy Spirit in our Ethan Allen State.
I can see where communist ways would work for you tho, not long ago your state Petitioned the Gov. to become a part of Russia. Why is that? Apparently guns dont mean that much to you after all, Is that true? Oh Wait Thxmrputin You need to check that with info from the media.

Quite a bit of misinformation held by you VT. boys. My state is considerably more gun-friendly than is VT. I don't know what the Brady people say about that, and I would not take their word for anything. VT has both a sales tax and an income tax, and those defeat the Ethan's Green Mountain Boy ethic and spirit. My state has neither a sales tax nor an income tax.

This state did not vote for Obama in 2008 or 2012, and I know a fellow who has a vanity license plate knowingly approved by the state that says, FBHO. We have no Howard Dean and would not suffer such a fool. I will admit that everyone I know believes Putin to be a much better man than is the other fellow but we readily acknowledge that both are corrupt thugs, and we have no time for either one. We claim the red lipstick lady with some misgivings but we have never asked anything of Putin; as a matter of fact many have offered to load ammo gratis for our neighbors (east and west) if they want to try to find democracy.

If you think that VT farmboys are better off holding hands in Burlington than molesting heifers in the barn then who am I to discredit or even question that about which I know nothing? There are 7 pages of escort girl ads in the Yellow Pages of our largest city but happily the girly boys have stayed back in your Green Mountains. I avoid cities myself.

I believe you started this misinformed post and continue to do so. Have at it if you will with your media information. As to which state has more gun rights I dont care, I do know my state is doing very well in that area. Reguardless of your thoughts Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys Spirit is far from defeated and never will be especially by the likes of some uninformed Radical . If you have ever been in this State you are well aware that your attitude and empty statements would not leave you standing long here.
It does sounds like you keep a close eye on those 7 pages, Is that the only place you can get a lady close to you. Nothin wrong with that but With an attitude like yours Im sure its still tough for those ladies to accept. Follow your own advice when you say, who are you to discredit or even question that about which you know nothing about. It may do you well.
