My take is that the dumbocreptic assembly of idjits would pass anything, but that sure doesn't make it law and very little gets out of the house without an extensive workover by senate staffers, if it gets into senate chambers at all.

The language on the assault rifles is taken from the AWB text and will require definition before it can get to a senate review process. Remember that NYS laws already continue much of the AWB language. The language regarding rifled shotgun barrels and other items of horror from the far left will either be deleted or revised to account for current ownership.

Frank Padavan is about as Republican as John Kerry, regardless of his party support. Bills sponsored by padavan have limited following. What, if anything, that gets to the senate floor certainly won't look anything like what was originally proposed.

In addition, the heat is on the Senate. Joe Bruno isn't going to say a thing until the bill gets in his house and is reviewd by his staff. Bruno knows how much GOP support comes from upstate and the hunting industry. I doubt this bill will go to the Governor without such extensive revision as to make it worthless.

Heck, I'm more concerned about the effects of full valuation than I am about the effects of that bill, but that's a local thing.

That's my take on it. Mikey.

I hope you are right Mikey...I'm thinking of sending off a letter to Sen George Maziarz's office...He's a home town boy from where I live and is a good guy. He is a friend to the gun owner and hunting crowd.

WNY_Whitetailer - I have relatives in Joe Brono's constituency who are shooters and vocal supporters of the Senator and who will definately lean on him about this bill. Although I don't think this measure will amount to much, the bill that is, any support we can muster is just that much better for all of us. Mikey.

....Another very good reason why NY should be made into two separate states.....

As well as Kalifornia and a couple others...

Can you imagine how well we would do without that big millstone downstate ...hanging around our necks ?
