The word sabot is French for shoe (shoeing a slug I suppose). Another word is derived from sabot- during the early industrial revolution, the French as well as the Dutch wore wooden shoes. When a French factory worker wanted to screw things up, he would toss one of his shoes into the machinery and everything would grind to a halt. Thus was born the term sabotage.......
