Thought some of you might like to have this PDF attachment. I'm a member of the Handgun Club of America (www.handgunclub.com) and they came out with this a few months ago...some of you may have seen it. It's a great "do it yourself" training course that you can set up at your house or at a nearby range to practice your conceal carry draw. You fire on targets anywhere from 3 to 15 yards using point and shoot as well as aim tactics. Fire from behind cover, from a seated position, off hand, with friendlies, etc. For what it is, it works great and can get you in some great practice without spending thousands of dollars on a self defense training course. Don't get me wrong...this is absolutely no substitute for a self defense training course but for those of us too cheap to spend that kind of money, this works great! :)

Enjoy! Let me know what you think and if you'll use it. See http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu24.htm for a great illustration on how to build some home made targets as well. I built three of these and this is what I use with the attached PDF training course. I've really improved my speed and accuracy from a draw. I've also gained much more confidence in carrying a loaded firearm and knowing that I know how to use it if the need arises...hopefully, it never will.

Doesn't appear to be much interest in this training course...

Does anyone else have some good range drills / training courses that they would like to share? I would love to have some more drills to hone my pistol skills.

I tried both attachments, and received the classic Microsoft "404 error". Is there some other place this information can be found?

I guess the attachment was taken down. Here's a link to download it. It has REALLY improved my shooting skills when I practice it regularly. There are plenty of others out there but I really like this one.

Here's the link:

Here's another one that I've found since I originally posted this:

Shapes Drill

Practice this one from 10 to 20 FEET away with a partner. Your partner can call out a number, a shape, or a color and you draw and fire. This target works great in a figure eight drill as well...not only do you have to turn and orient toward the target but you then have to find what the target is. If any of you have seen the Guns & Ammo DVD series, you've seen these drills being used at Valhalla by Rob Pincus. They are great!

Enjoy!

No problem! If you ever run across any good ones, be sure to post them. I'd love to see some others post some drills here. I know there's got to be more out there that I haven't seen!

Let me know what you think after you shoot the course.
