The best thing I've found for cleaning stones is plain ol kerosene. Let the stone soak in the stuff for about 20 minutes, then scrub with a wire brush. In the case of stones as small as the Lansky's one of those stiff, wire "toothbrush" things used to work for me when I had a Lansky.
