Good day everyone looking!

Was wanting to attach a sling to my hunting rig(T/C Encore 209x50). Will shooting this rifle with a sling attached have any effect on POI? Don't have one on it now, and would want to wait before hunting this set-up without spending time at a range to adjust the sights(open). Just needing to find a better way to carry this firearm through the woods.

Any experienced answers appreciated greatly!

Just having the sling attached, won't affect accuracy. If you apply pressure to the sling as some do to steady the rifle with military slings, accuracy could be affected since the sling is attached to the forearm which in turn is attached directly to the barrel.

There may be a change to the way the rifle groups with the sling attached, BUT you are highly unlikely to notice. Especially in a muzzleloader. I think you will be just fine to add the sling and not worry about it.

I have had a sling on mine ever since I've owned it, and I don't notice any effect. I don't put pressure on the forearm with the sling when I shoot, as I have just braced myself against a tree or once across a log (buck bedded about 60 yards = no problems!).

Best of luck, Arch
