Siegel is good but it seems like I usually get small sides from them and the colors aren't consistent if you're looking for chap leather. If you have a tax number you can buy from Weaver leather. They are great people to deal with and have everything leather related that you can possibly think of. Mid-Continent leather in Tulsa OK is also good to deal with.
Zack White (www.zackwhite.com) is probably the best source for hides that there is. They have a huge selection, and the prices are probably at least as good or usually better than Seigal
They have just about any leatherworking tool or supply you can imagine as well.
They also have holster kits. They are stamped out into popular patterns for popular size guns already. You just sew or lace them together. You can usually modify the kits to fit guns other than what they were designed for.
