I ask about .22lr shot shells in another area. Actually, the wrong area. Anyway, I was asking about CCI and Federal .22LR shot shells. I took the advice and tested the two and other than the Federal's being louder and 'maybe' the CCI's a wee bit tighter group I'm convinced just buy whichever one is available. I have a bee problem and thought I'd give the shot shells a try. Not the best method of getting rid of them but dang if it ain't fun. They're a nasty looking critter and I'm not exactly sure what to call them. Considering this is a handgun hunting area I thought I'd show off my Wrangler trophy kill and hopefully find out the proper name for these bees.

I can’t quite tell but I think those are called “cicada killers” or “sand hornets”. I was told they are more or less solitary and though they can painfully sting they very rarely do.

sounds about right bowtech302. only see them by themselves. glad to hear they're not stingers. might leave them alone and go after the wood bore bees.

I have carpenter bees here and they make good targets for the shot shells
