Its lookin like Im going to have to learn how to coyote trap. Been scouting for beaver since the first of the month and there just isnt enough beaver aound to make it worth while. It seems this drought we are in is really taking its toll on our ponds most are dry as a bone. Places I trapped last year and needed waders are nothing but frozen mud now. I would think the rivers and lakes should be loaded beings they are the only places with water. I do have acouple places close to roads that have beavs Im thinking when I get them couple spots trapped out Im going to hangup the beaver traps for the season and hope we get abunch of snow and a rainy spring and start the recovery from this drought.
Done some 2 track running today and saw plenty of coyote sign to keep a coyote trapper happy, so that looks like what Im going to tackle now and see if I can catch one or two of these wary old michigan yotes. I have never skin a coyote before and hear there not fun but ill cross that bridge when I get there hopfuly. Dont want to get the wagon in front of the horses.
