I really don't need it. I've got a Marlin 512 slug gun, a Mossberg 500 with a cantilever slug barrel and a 20 gauge ULSH. In addition I have a Knight Wolverine and a Winchester X150 muzzelloader. However my local farm store has one left...a 12 gauge USH recently priced at $269 but now marked down to $239 because it is discontinued. I've got enough deer guns but I have never shot or owned a USH. What should I do? My wife says I should get it. Yet I am not sure. I know that it would be a sit and wait for the deer slug gun only and then there is getting a good scope for it.

Well that group is impressive. Don't think my marlin or mossberg can put them in there like that. I would be happy with that group at 50 yards. Darn good shooting iron and a darn good shot. I have a plan. I could get the USH for my 22 year old son. He is a lefty and only has a Right Hand pump slug gun. The H&R would set him up and then I would not feel guilty about spending money on myself. Then I could barrow it after he fills his tag.

i am too, but i don't have a ush and i shoot righthand (mostly) and can use
an H&R/NEF either way

first deer i took on my place was with my old $50.00 pawn shop 88 and
a .50 cent buckshot shell. if he had that ush it'd be something he could
use all of his hunting career. i've shot a lot of animals of different kinds
with singles and i don't feel handicapped or hindered in any way with just
one shot on tap.
