My wife handed me an envelope from Montana Fish,Wildlife and Parks. In it was a Bighorn Sheep, adult ewe, permit for the Norhwest corner of Montana.I guess I'll have to run a high elevation coyote line out of our sheep camp. The band of sheep I'm going to hunt is a little over 300 sheep.Got to break in new boots and get the pack frames out.Better check the coyote drags to make sure their ready.I can use Sterling MJ 600's there and not have to worry about them getting stole. The only problem is they live in a grizzly bear rich enviroment.

Coyotero,

Howdy Coyotero,,

A Grizzly was killed in Alaska a year or so ago, it came charging out of the brush at this kid who was out deer hunting. The kid was 25 or so and had a 7mm, he shot it 14 times and killed it.
And after the wildlife folks were notified and showed up, they found 20 other bullet holes in the bear. and human remains in the bears gut. So they began to back trail the bear and found 2 dead guys, in two different places! One was a hiker who had a big pistol, empty of course as he had unloaded it at the bear.
The other guy was a hunter who had a 7mm!!! and had shot the bear 14 times too! Before the bear ate his legs. I had pictures but you can imagine what a guy who has been bear ate looks like. Good luck up in bear country and have fun!
Give em **** old Coyotero!

Now that'll get you excited to go. :)

Congrats on the permit. What were the odds for getting one (a permit that is)?

Not doubting what YOU are saying...but the credibility of the ORIGINAL story teller...Both had shot 14 times??? OK..NOW...that means that they had the time to RELOAD 4 times???(smaller mag capacity with larger calibers) DOUBT IT...For one to fire 14 rounds....INCLUDING the reloading...the bear would had to have been at 200yds and WALKING SLOWLY towards them....aint appenin....lessin they had 14 round extended capacity magazines...

Was still a good story. Btw I'm jealous. I took pictures of a bighorn ewe while cat trapping in Wy at about 40 yards. Sure made me wonder what one tastes like. Hope you get a nice fat one.

Lynx Cat Trapper,

Yeah I know what you mean, but I will go try and find the article and post it on the Graybeard.

The last guy defiantly shot the bear 14 times, I remember that.
The other two guys... I know I would not loose an article like that one. I always wondered what kind of rifle it was, a bolt?
I have never heard of a military rifle bored for 7mm, or more than a 8-10 round mag for a hunting rifle.
I looked it up when I read the article, about a year ago, a 7mm is a 140 grain bullet.

The bear is stuffed and mounted {or will be} and on display in the ancorage airport. As the biggest Grizzly bear ever recorded, anywhere in the world.

The kid worked for fish and wildlife or something like that, and every game warden in the state was there to see this, and...
There were pictures of the kid behind the bear, bear, the dead guy #1, with his legs ate, the dead guy #2 was never found, I'm already looking.

14' !!! Tall. I am sure of the size, he was fourteen feet tall.
This bear could walk up to a 2 story house and put his paws on the first story roof, and stand flat footed and look in the second story window. I'll find that article tonight or ask everybody I emailed it to and recover it. Ya'll stand by, you too Coyotero.

Alright Ya'll,
I found it on Goggle, under:
The Giant Grizzly Bear netlore archive

Just type all that stuff in and it will show the bear and kid and opps!
It was only 12'5" tall
But I remembered the bullets...14... and attributed it to the size, my mistake.

The thing I am refering ya'll to doesn't say anything about the other two dead guys but I may have the orginal on the other computer or...
on a floppy disc. I wouldn't loose a picture of a bear like that one.

A good story and I need to have something to eat,.

{ Can one post pictures on the graybeard by the copy and paste thing?}

I'll be back.... Knife

I'm not doubting the size...but NO WAY on 14 rounds...ANYONE who's EVER hunted or used a magnum caliber would call BS...A 7mm in a bolt holds 4 WITH one in the chamber....a semi like a browning MIGHT hold one more...that's 4....F O U R reloads...AND let's not forget the "stress factor".. ..NO how....NO way...with the larger 7mm calibers THAT is the way it is!!! Now a mini 14 or an AR15...any idiot that uses them for hunting ANY big game animal gets what they deserve...IMHO

I did n't read the article but I suppose two guys with one or two revolvers could put a bunch of holes in a thing that size...if they could hit it.

Read the link I posted. The bear was a dandy shot by an airfoce airman. With a 338. It hadn't eaten anybody and wasn't a behemoth monster. Not even a record. The photo of the guy with his legs eaten is faked. Take a close look. The bone with meat showing isnt a human leg bone.

I still think the monster man eater with a several pounds of lead in him is a better tale though lol.
