Tikka out of the box accuracy is truely fantastic. My buddy and I both got new Tikka 243 rifles...mine in wood and blue, his in synthetic and stainless. Both of us shooting out of the box ammo: Winchester Supreme 55 gn. Hornady 58 gn, and Federal 80 gn. I shoot 1 inch groups , but he being alittle better shot shoots 3 shot groups that touch each other. I suppose there are a lot of you that can shoot this kind of group . . . but I am impressed with these rifles out of the box. :D

AND WHAT ABOUT THOSE TRIGGERS!!! [/color]:-D :) :-D :)

ALL Tikka rifles must shoot 1 MOA before they leave the factory in Finland. That's why your Tikka shoots so great!

I own a NIB Tikka Laminated Stainless in .25-06. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet (I need to get scope rings.)

BTW, what type of scope rings did you use? Were they stainless? What ring height? What scope did you use? How much did they cost? Where did you get the rings from?

CONGRATULATIONS on getting a great gun.

Zackery, My rings are Leopolds in blue, high in height. My buddies are the same except in stainless. I shoot a Nikon Monark 3x9x40, my buddy a 3x9x40 Bushnell 3200 elite. My rings and scope came off of a Sako TRG 7m weatherby mag that I sold so I do not remember the price. We both have the high rings and the fit is perfect. I had tried med rings with my Sako but they were not high enough for the bell of the scope to clear the barrel. But I have never felt I was stretching to shoot with the high rings on these Finnish rifles. Several times I closed my eyes and brought the gun up, then opened my eyes. just to ck and everything lined up with my eye perfect. We get all of our stuff from a place called "Larry's chainsaw". He sells chainsaw stuff and guns. . . great combo eh? Sako rings are very expensive as you know. But we have had no problem with the rings we are using on everything from the 243 to 7m weatherby to 7m stw to 300 weatherby mag.

My Tikka 243 Syn/blu is a tack driver. I have the factory Tikka ring mounts, blue medium ht w/Nikon Buckmaster 3-9-40. I want a screw down base and rings and Leupold is "SUPPOSED" to be making some soon. For a factory load 100 grainer try Hornaday Custom load 100gr BTSP. I am handloading 80gr Sierra BTSP varmiterBlitz w/IMR4064 and it is a very accurate load. The Rem and Win factory flatbase bullets sis not shoot as well as boattails. I am going to try some 55gr Nosler BT's soon.

I have a M585 .22-250, blue w/ walnut stock, heavy barrel. I used Millet rings I procured from a local store (evidently Millet supplies the rings to Tikka, as they are the same clamp-on/pinned slot arrangement). THey are medium height, and the scope is a Bushnell Elite 3200, 4-12X. It will shoot .4-.5" at 150 yards all day long. I will buy more Tikkas. The only concern is with the plastic magazine. Where do you get more of them?

I have a few questions about tikka.

The Laminated/stainless version, is the stainless finish matte? Also, what about the bolt lock, does this mean that the safety must be off in order to load it?

My Tikka is a model M558 which the Tikka website says is an old model. Any Idea when the last year was that this rifle was manufactured?

Love my Tikka!

I own a 25-06 Hunter, Synthetic/Blue, have taken many whitetail from 50 yrds to 300 yrds and one 170 class muley at 250 yrds. Shooting 115grn ballisticSilvertips. One shot one kill. To find scope mounts/base, look on the companies website, they list dealers. Looking to buy another, unsure on which caliber yet.

I did not run through alot of bullets, started out with the ballistc tips and stayed there. I'm not the most steady shot but I run around 1"-1.5" groups from bench, I chose 25-06 because of the lack of kick and love it. Good luck
