After much debating decided to order an Encore frame. Also just placed order today with Bullberry, ordered:

1. 15" heavy sporter bbl, .260 rem., was toss up between .260 and .250 A.I. Liked concept of the Ackley design and .25 cal but opted for easier route of easily available factory brass and dies for 6.5mm. Is the heavy sporter profile a good choice?, Troy at BB said it should match the factory profile, he said the light varmint taper (.750") would be too heavy for 15" bbl. to carry and hunt with.

2. Opted for both high grade forearm and grip in English walnut, the grip is the sporter style. Troy recommended a 7.5" long forearm which would cover 1/2 the bbl. What do you think, I do not have a factory encore to compare.

have to wait 16 weeks! Hope i can hold out, should receive frame next week. I plan on hunting varmints and deer, what do you think of my selection ?

thanks, Mirage

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

I have a plain Jane Factory .260 Rem. in 15" Encore w/ factory wood grips.

It is a super outfit, using the 120 Nodsler BT. and handloads it will hold +/- 1" @ 100Yds if I do my part. I think that I am the weak link. Made a rifle shooter at the range pretty dissapointed with his long gun, I think it was a .222 or .223 of some sort.

When you get ready to reload post a note or send a PM and I will share what I can for reload data.

Good Luck & Enjoy...... Rol

.260

I'm like Rol Page, got yhe TC version of same. So far I love it. Only been fooling w/ light bullets for pasture poodles so far. I've shot 6.5mm for years ( 6.5JDJ ) and have never been disappointed ( well, not w/ the gun anyway ). GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt :D :D :D

Thanks from Mirage

Hey, thanks for the response so far. I too debated hard over the factory bbl. but my twisted logic rationalized if i had to wait 12 weeks for Custom Shop bbl., why not wait an additional 4 weeks for a Bullberry. Also wanted to satisfy the guilt of selling my p226!

Southern Utah, i might take you up for a visit on my baby. Could you verify / select my wood? I did order the english walnut but am still thinking of Claro?

Thanks, Mirage.
