Triton Quik-Shok ammo and Glocks

:D Im sure that ya heard that they will blow with certain type of ammo, but,I have never heard of one doing so with any factory ammo that is available at present. When we did testing on Glockes we were using sub gun ammo,to the turn of over 5000 rounds through the test gun. Now i will advise you that a number of smiths bought the farm, but a Glock, aint gunna happen my friend. I am a retired deputy, and here in Mi.,I was one of those who did the original testing on them on my side of the state. Now in handloads that might be a differant story, but again,if you are using your head,it is not going to occure. for that matter,I have never seen a glock blow, weather from a round,or when it got dropped from a chopper from 500 feet onto tarmack. No parts, slapped a mag in it,and it perked right along. You could count the parts in the other semi-autos that were tested,if you could find em. King :-D :-D :-D

Glocks blowing up??

I don't mean to get grumpy about this subject, BUT GLOCKS DON"T BLOW UP!!!!!!! Who ever started that cr+p has stock in another firearms company, and no cajones. I have shot overloads, culls, subgun ammo though every caliber Glock possible. Stop the rumors, boys!
It's about as silly as saying a fiberglass handled hammer blows up...

The ammo you are mentioning may be a problem. Anytime you fragment a bullet to limit penetration, you risk not getting to the bad guys vitals. You need an average of 12-14 inches penetration including clothing to do the job...it's why we don't shoot bullets designed to expand rapidly on varmints, to shoot deer. The don't do the job.
Sorry 'bout the temper tantrum...it gets sickening is all... 8)

:D MONTE!!. I would hope im one of those people in the "KNOW",CAUSE IM ONE OF THIER INSTRUCTERS. Also my department, had not,nor knows of any of the above information that you advised of. Again,I have never heard of a Glock going "KA-BOOM " from any factory,or fer that matter, handloaded ammo yet. I personally think its just hype. Uhhhh. That was a polite response. King

:D Monty...Yup,I would be real interested in that information. I just retired from 32 yrs of it,and we have had the G22 for about 5 yrs at this point. I,still have mine and shoot it quite a bit. The information that you have would be greatly appreciated. I checked with all of the present instructers that we have, and the dont know anything about it at all. Nand inturn that is where this information came from. Now, it is possible that a run of these guns that are suffering malfunctions went to a department in particular ,and we have had some of the guys keep putting the same round in the chamber causing the bullet to slide ito the casing more, but never was a malfunction or ruined gun due the firing of this round...I also am familiar with the reloading of the .40,and it is a touchy round to reload. The last school I attended we were talking about the pressure curve in a round if it is not loaded to specs, and the problems it was causing in some firearms. Never did we hear of it bothering the Glocks or any of thier models. You are correct,a simple call should solve the problem to Ga. Staty safe. I will see what I can come up with King
