I have a Rem. 760 pump 30.06 with factory rifle sights. I just bought a Leupold vx-ll 3-9x 40 scope for it with 1 piece base and low mount scope rings. The rings are too low and rifle sights are in view thru scope. Can anyone recommend what height rings I need for this set-up. Thanks.

As long as the scope doesn't touch the rear sight I'd suggest you just ignore the fact you see the sights in the bottom of your FOV. I've had that happen many times with scopes with wide FOVs and it's not an issue really unless you make it one. You can always remove the front sight which is usually the one visible in such cases but it hurts nothing to leave it in place. I like my scopes mounted as low as possible so long as the scope is touching nothing but the rings.

The scope fits nicely, away from the rifle sights. I'll take your advice and keep the scope low. Thanks.
