I want to cast straight ww in a lee .475 400grain for my taurus 5 inch .480 ruger. I will use h110 and only want aprox. 1,000fps. will plain ww work for this combo?

yup ww will work at any velocity you can shoot the .480 at.

Straight wheelweights will be fine for the velocity, but H-110 is the wrong powder to use for that velocity. 21 gr H-110 over the Lee 400 will produce 1200 fps even from a 7 1/2" tube, and ~1100 fps from your 5" tube, and outstanding accuracy. The thing with H-110 is it is a bad powder to download with. I would use 2400 for a 1000 fps load.

If it's not in the thread, I'll check my load notes to see what the charge was.
