What's your favorite centerfire rifle. The one that you go to most often?

Mine is a Remington 700 Custom Shop 375 H&H magnum Safari rifle with synthetic stock and Leupold 1.5-5x scope. I just like that gun. It carries nice, can be used for anything I want to hunt, and it works well. I never expected this to become the favorite.

T3 Tikka, 6.5x55 wood and blued. I bought this gun to hunt smaller deer in the Bllack Hills of S.D. It is the most accurate firearm I have. It has much more power to dispatch game than I ever thought and doesn't kick very much at all. I feel very confident to 300 plus yards. She is a beauty and lays em down no matter what size deer they are. Bought as a smaller game rifle but ended up with my main stay. This is one under rated weapon. Also great for a teen ager or girlfriend or wife. Got what I really wanted but didn't know it at the time. I thought this gun was very accurate with regular ammo until I tried a Hornady SST, plastic tip. The bar has been raised! What a special caliber and firearm!

;D Well that's easy it's not one but 2. The first is a Custom 98 in 6.5x55 toped with a Mueller 3-10x44 that will shoot 3/4 inch groups regardless what i feed it and 2nd is my Custom 98 topped with a Pentax Gameseeker 4-12x40 with a 2 1/2 pound trigger. 26 inch heavy barrel that put 3 shots into 3/4 of an inch at 200 yards. it is the mist accurate rifle I have ever shot. I love the 98 action. Jess

Sweetheart (daughter) and rife. 6.5 x 55 encore. Her buck was 150 yds. and mine was 385. It has a 3x9 Leup. tactical scope. We had it zeroed at 250 yards. It shoots everything from 90 to 140 grains well. I took a 8 pt buck and whitetail doe with it on the same day last year. We use 120 gr for the goats and 140 for deer in the woods.

Two for me also!

My baby is a Sako Finlight in 270 that will put 5 shots in one hole at 100 yards but the gun I always go to is a Tikka T3 lite in 30-06.
My Tikka is a "working mans" rifle and it just calls me. I have a safe full of rifles by every manufacture out there but the Tikka is my daily worker.

My Favorite rifle is two of them my CZ model 550 American Safari 458 Lott and my 300 Win Mag.

My 300 has a Leupold 3X9 and my lott has a Burris 1 3/4 X 5 safari scope.

I have a safe full of rifles but these two are my favorites.

While I've got several rifles in the safe, the rifle I hunt with most is a 1977 Marlin 336 in .35 Remington. The rifle carries great in the mountains of east Tennessee where shots are close and can be quick. It's not the fanciest rifle in the safe, but more and more I find myself taking it as the nostalgia of hunting with a lever just makes the world feel "right".

Mine is a TC Encore in 6mm Rem. It packs light, has no real recoil and dispatches game efficiently. Accurate as the day is long with 100 grain Hornady soft points. Better yet my daughter does extremely well with it too.

victorcharlie,
I had a marlin model 336 in 35 Remmy. God was that thing a shooter!!! I won a bet with a smarta$$ buddy of mine that always had a negative comment about my marlin. After a few weekends of this I said to put up or shut up. I knew my marlin would shoot but he had a Remington 700 30-06 with SCOPE and me with old iron sights. It only took one shot. I walked off 100 yards and found an old glass coke bottle. I said you get one shot and let him try first. Well, he missed and I didn't and I walked away with 20 of his dollars.

He shut his mouth after that.

Sorry to say I no longer have that rifle but always wish I never got rid of it. The guy that owns in now is my uncle and I swears it's the best shooter he has ever had.
