I've been asked about Daniel King howitzer drawings. I did one a long time ago based on pictures - don't consider it worth resurrecting.

BUT doing a search I came up with this: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q...8076504023396&thid=OIP.M16e0e4fb2315c04abd47ec4b90e0133do0&mode=overlay&first=1

Could this be the real dimensions of a Daniel King?

Is there one around whose owner would let me measure it?

Tim,

Use this Search string in google and it will bring up all the previous post we have had on this gun.

I think some where in there is a drawng. You might also ask Wes Pilley, I think he came up with a drawing,

There are several versions of the "King howitzer" and that looks like the final one. I am under the impression that West Point has one although I don't know which style.

I also found this picture on the internet list as belonging mark1968klein. Mark is MKlein here on the board. He hasn't visited for about a month but i believe he is out of town right now on business and should returned 5 or 6 months.

You shoulld be able to scale from that drawing.

DD I have made it back from my 5 month trip to Afghanistan.

The photo is from American Inventions and Improvements in Breech-loading Small Arms p. 856

There is a couple of pictures in Round Shot and Ramers of two different versions and some history about them also. Said something about the trunions not holding up on the lighter version.
