I had come across the same plans while searching too. The plans are for a mini, the proportions may be right but it shows the bore as 1/2 inch.

 

I'd love to measure a real one!

 

I've been asked about Daniel King howitzer drawings. I did one a long time ago based on pictures - don't consider it worth resurrecting.

Could this be the real dimensions of a Daniel King?

I also found this picture on the internet list as belonging mark1968klein. Mark is MKlein here on the board. He hasn't visited for about a month but i believe he is out of town right now on business and should returned 5 or 6 months.

You shoulld be able to scale from that drawing.

There are several versions of the "King howitzer" and that looks like the final one. I am under the impression that West Point has one although I don't know which style.

There is a couple of pictures in Round Shot and Ramers of two different versions and some history about them also. Said something about the trunions not holding up on the lighter version.[/color]

 

These are howitzer pictures I took at West Point some years ago.

The bores were 2.75" with some worn to around 3". Those all look too big. And I think the King at West Point was not out in the weather.
